Increase your January and February sales.

As we approach 2011 it is easy to get wrapped up in the holidays and the ever popular boxing day sales. For shoppers it`s a full contact sport, for retailers it`s a sales frenzy and a security nightmare.

But there is a fantastic opportunity for retailers in January and February. Many large and multinational retailers focus so much time and energy to Christmas and Boxing day that things are VERY quiet in January and February. This gives smaller retailers an opportunity to plan a marketing event and gain alot of shoppers attention in these months. Examples of which might be a straight sale, or celebrity autograph session. Spend $x and get a free blank or the first 50 people through the door receive a free gift card. Whatever the idea, you will get much more attention in these months as you would in December.

So get your creative juices flowing and put some effort into a January or February event. Spend some money on advertising it and a strong PR effort to assure it will be a success. Another great way to connect with your customers and potential customers.
